A/C Coil Guard System

This Demand Flow™ sheet metal fabrication system manufactures 38 different sized and featured (length, width and columns of louvers) condenser unit coil guards for residential air conditioners, with part change over "on-the-fly".

Utilizing Hess "Smart Die" technology, separate dies are grouped together in a common mechanical press. The dies form, pierce or louver a variety of features. Each die is equipped with a dynamic gag, which engages or disengages appropriate features during any of the continuous press strokes.

A series of Hess designed and built presses automatically adjust to produce the flanges on the tops, bottoms and sides of the panels. The part is transferred through the forming presses, rotated and turned according to part geometry. This completely programmable system produces a wide variety of panel variations with no manual intervention.
